100% agree with Jeff about most musicians acquiring their skills the old fashioned way – hard work. The myth of having a natural talent to be a professional bassist keeps many a bassist (and musician) back.
Chat with a bassist whose ‘talent’ you admire and I’m sure that 9 times out of 10, they’ll tell you they became the bassist that they are because of a solid work ethic when it comes to practicing and expanding their capabilities on the bass.
